Sherman Tate was a Triangle musical fixture for 50 years. A founder of Chapel Hill’s Frog Level and The Blazers (~1970s), he performed frequently during his final years in Raleigh fronting Shakin’ Sherman and the DTs around Raleigh. On July 4, The Blazers saluted Sherman in a Cat’s Cradle performance in Carrboro. Musicians performing included Ron Taylor, Parthenon Huxley, Lee Gildersleeve, Ken Yow, Debra DeMilo, Brian Barnes, and Chuck Miller.
